2006 Seabird Conservation & Management Workshop: The Hawaii Chapter of the Wildlife Society was proud to sponsor its annual workshop series: Seabird Conservation & Management in Hawaii and the Tropical Pacific; The Hawaiian Islands are home to 22 species of breeding seabirds, three of which are endemic to the archipelago. Like many other Pacific Islands, a range of human influences, from introduced vertebrate predators, habitat destruction, and avian diseases, to direct human interference, has decimated Hawaii’s seabird populations. This workshop addressed pressing conservation and management issues for seabirds in the Pacific.
