Tracking and Nature Awareness Workshop
April 26-27, 2005
The Nature Conservancy Cosumnes River Preserve
Sacramento California

Come learn about tracking and increase your awareness of the natural environment with Rick Berry and Lisa Bonney of the Children of the Earth Foundation, associated with Tom Brown's Tracking School. Expect to observe tracks of birds, small mammals, deer and any other animals that use the Cosumnes River Preserve trails. We will be meeting at the Cosumnes Preserve Visitor's Center.

This 2-day basic tracking class will be held entirely in the field. Topics that will be covered include: Animal Tracking ID, Gaits, Trails, Runs and Sign, Track Aging Introduction to Pressure Release Studies Awareness Exercises, Introduction to the Language of the Birds and Concentric Ring Studies

Optional Evening includes Night Tracking and Tracking Stories

Schedule

April 26: Registration begins at 8:30
Class is from 9 AM to 5:00 PM, with a lunch break (lunch included)
Optional Evening begins after dark, exact time to be determined later

April 27 Class is from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, with a lunch break (lunch included)

There are hotels available in Elk Grove and Sacramento. The Preserve is located approximately 30 minutes south of Sacramento.
